Credit Card Security and Authorization
Updated over a week ago

Is my credit card information secure when making payments through Elevate?

Yes, Elevate uses industry-standard encryption and security protocols to protect your credit card information. We are committed to safeguarding your data at every step of the payment process.

Why do I need to enter a One-Time Password (OTP) for credit card payments?

These measures are put in place to help protect against online fraud, and to better secure your accounts and payments on CardUp. The OTP is a secure way to authenticate that the user setting up the online payment is the rightful owner of the credit card being used.

You also may see a SGD$0.50 pending charge on your bank statement as part of the card authorisation process but note that it is only temporary. This authorisation fee is needed to verify if the card is an active card, so rest assured that this charge will be refunded automatically within 7 to 14 working days (excluding Public Holidays and weekends)

What happens if I don’t receive the OTP for authorizing my payment?

If you don’t receive the OTP, please check that your phone number is correct and that you have a stable network connection. You can request a new OTP, or contact your card issuer if the issue persists.

What measures are in place to protect against fraud when using my credit card?

Elevate employs advanced fraud detection systems, encryption, and secure payment gateways to protect against fraud. We also monitor transactions for suspicious activity and may require additional verification if needed.
